Maggie Grace is an American actress who was born Margaret Grace Denig in 1983. Her best-known roles include Shannon Rutherford, a character in ABC's Lost series as well as Kim Mills from the Taken trilogy. Her parents had divorced and she relocated with her mother in Los Angeles. While struggling financially she landed her first part as Rachel's Room's title character the video on-demand show Rachel's Room in the year 2001. In 2002, she was awarded an Young Artist Award in 2002 for her portrayal as Murder in Greenwich of 15 year old Martha Moxley as a murder victim, she went on to take home the award. In 2004 Grace was cast as Shannon Rutherford in the television show Lost where she was the main cast member for the first two seasons. She was also awarded an Screen Actors Guild Award shared with the cast of the ensemble. Grace was forced to quit the show in order to concentrate on her professional film work. She had appeared alongside Tom Welling opposite in The Fog in 2005. She appeared as Kim Mills in Suburban Girl The Jane Austen Book Club (both 2007) and opposite Liam Neeson as Kim Mills in Taken in the year 2008. She reprised her role as Kim Mills in Taken 2 (2012) and Taken 3 (2014).She played the leading role in Alice in Malice in Wonderland a modern adaptation of Lewis Carroll's book Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Grace was back on the Lost series in the final two episodes as Shannon. The actress was featured in 2013's sixth season of Californication. She plays Faith an actress who serves as a model for the stars, and draws the attention from Hank Moody (David Duchovny). As a part of the Gyllenhaal family, she is the daughter and elder sister to the actor Jake Gyllenhaal. Her first roles were in films starring her father in his adolescent years. Along with her brother, she also appeared on the screen in Donnie Darko (2000). Her subsequent roles included Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind in 2002, as well as Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal received critical acclaim for her leading performances in the erotic romantic comedy drama Secretary (2002) as well as the drama Sherrybaby (2006) both of which earned her an Golden Globe Award nomination. For this movie, she received the Best Screenplay Award at the Venice International Film Festival and received nominations for the Academy Award.
